“I Turn With The Seasons”
Seven paintings ranging in size from 10 × 14 inches to 3.5 × 5 feet, installed across a 7 × 18 foot gallery wall.
Mediums: watercolor & gouache on hot-press watercolor paper mounted on custom oval wood panels
“I Turn With The Seasons” is an interactive watercolor series permanently installed at the Children’s Museum of Denver, created as the culminating piece from my summer as artist-in-residence.
The paintings follow a child blooming with spring flowers, twirling through summer, falling with autumn leaves, and settling into winter stillness. The series is inspired by the idea that humans are an integral part of nature, and that we can deeply connect with the Earth through movement, art, and imagination.

Not just a painting, but an experience
Because dance and intuitive movement were central themes of my residency, I wanted to create an installation that not only depicts dance, but actively invites it. Children can follow the footsteps on the floor that mirror the choreography within the paintings, allowing them to physically engage with the work. In this way, they can continue to rise and fall with the changing seasons — just as they did during my open studio sessions at the museum.
