Emma Friday is an artist of earth, movement, and wonder. Someone who gathers the gentle magic of everyday life and spins it into color. A watercolorist, maker, mover, and storyteller, she paints the quiet beauties most people rush past: the shy light on a pet’s face, a house humming with memory, a flower turning its cheek toward the sun. Her work drifts between the seen world and a dreamy elsewhere, where flowers stretch like dancers and landscapes breathe.
Rooted in fibers, watercolor, murals and the language of design, Emma builds worlds that feel touched by both intuition and craftsmanship. Whether she’s crocheting in a van in New Zealand, leading children through garden-themed dances at the Denver Children’s Museum, she treats art as a place where care, curiosity, and community meet. Her creations invite people to play, to wander, to remember childhood, to return to nature, and to see themselves reflected in color and movement.
Emma works from the Denver/Boulder area, painting public art pieces, teaching yoga and dance, and creating commissions—from live wedding paintings to custom watercolors. Wherever she goes, she brings her signature blend of whimsy, warmth, and wild-hearted exploration, believing that art is not just something we look at, but something we step into.
She is a CU Boulder graduate with a degree in Environmental Design with a focus in product design, and a minor in fine art practices. She is also a graduate of Denver School of the Arts, majoring in dance for 6 years.
