This painting was made at the 6th annual “Art in the Park” competition in Granby, Colorado. Twelve artists were chosen to create a unique large-scale painting over the course of only two days. This year’s theme was “western.” It was an incredibly inspiring weekend to be surrounded by such talented artists, and I was honored to receive 4th place in the competition.

“Lucky Catch” was inspired by a dear friend’s passion for fly fishing and a story he told about catching a fish while being blinded by sunlight. It was also inspired by Grand County’s rich fishing history and beautiful nature.

The piece is to be displayed on Granby’s Main Street, and auctioned off in 2027. Total mural measures about 6 × 4 feet.
