“Colfax Keepsakes” was created to capture Colfax’s vibrant spirit, rich history of live music, vintage motels, and gritty culture through a collage of collected memories and “found things.” Using ticket stubs, matchboxes, and imagery inspired by the iconic businesses we all know and love, I wanted the work to feel layered with nostalgia, personality, and lived experience. As someone who is deeply sentimental and constantly collecting keepsakes from places and moments, this concept felt like a meaningful way to honor the avenue I grew up driving on. Colfax holds generations of stories, and this piece aims to celebrate the energy, connection, and sense of memory that make the street so unforgettable.
